The Story...

"Killing Me" is a story born from Bort's unfortunate up close and personal experience with an online predator. 

"I will never know that person's intentions with me- so Samantha and I decided to write about it.  Creating this musical has proved extremely  cathartic for me. I'm getting to say all the things I'll never get to say to them. To stick up for myself in a way, an opportunity I was never presented with, because I didn't know who they TRULY were until it was all over.  

What happens in our story is very likely what would have happened to me had I not  somehow found the strength to end all  communication with my predator..."

but don't let the premise misguide you or scare you away! "Killing Me" is a love story, and has a LOT of heart, a lot of levity, and a LOT of beauty and genuine laughs. It's a perfect example of the fact that- something doesn't have to be true for it to feel totally real to someone who believes...
The Writing Process
from writing the first song in early '09 all the way to the movie shoot in 2012!
