if you are a long time reader of this blog, or a personal friend of mine, you know that last christmas i gave away almost all my clothes. a total and complete purge. i kept enough to wear, but got rid of anything i hadn't worn in awhile, anything that didn't still fit, anything i didn't still like, and anything that held certain memories i was ready to leave behind.
i was left with a very basic and minimal wardrobe:
1 pair of jeans
1 black tank top
1 navy blue tank top
1 coral tank top
and all my favorite flannels and sweaters and jackets.
i dumped all my underwear and socks, also.
so this year i have taken every extra job offered to me to completely rebuild my entire wardrobe. i'm so happy with what i have, now - because every piece fits me perfectly - and i don't have too much... which is a big thing for me, now. i never want to feel like i have excess and it's just sitting around - because that's wasteful, and someone else could be using it.
that being said - I HAVE ONE MAJOR PROBLEM WITH CLOTHES - i am only attracted to fall/winter things! i love dark clothes, heavy clothes, sweaters, vests, hats, and jackets. summer is always a struggle because all i own are tank tops to layer under 3 other shirts ;D SO I AM THRILLED THAT IT'S FINALLY TIME TO START LAYERING, and cannot wait to incorporate all the beautiful new things i found this year!
here are the inspiration pics i used to rebuild my wardrobe :D
casual day - to - day
i don't have jobs that ever require me to be fancy AT work, so i mostly just try to be me,
which these days is kind of what i'd refer to as "annie hall bohemian" with a little french twist.
i'm either working in the studio, teaching at school, sitting behind the piano at a show, or at home on the computer, or teaching voice lessons. i can just be comfortable .... but still hopefully kinda cool ;D
