as aforely mentioned, i attribute much of my happiness this summer to the summer check list i wrote for myself.
it was like, a recipe for joy and accomplishments. and i worked so hard on it, and created some of the best memories of my entire life. days, nights and weeks i will truly never forget. this summer was SO so special... and honestly, a big part of that was the music i chose to score my life to.
some new, some old, some favorites, some bold :) (oooo, that was cute!)
but ALL music that held no specific memories already for me... that's not true. some of these song go back with me all the way to high school (yeah dmb. love you <3) but the thing i was looking for as i compiled my summer playlist, was music that would make me HAPPY. so if it had memories, they had to be good ones. and there's a few on here that hold memories so good, hearing them literally makes me warm... and sometimes blush. literally. but with that said-
i wanted totally new adventures. and as you all know, and as i just described- music is such a sense memory...
you hear a certain song and you're INSTANTLY emotionally transported back to the time in your life when that song meant something to you...
well i set out to make new memories. and boy did i ever.this music will always signify this summer to me now... driving back and forth, lost beyond belief- from santa cruz, late nights in the back yard in the pool or just lying under the trees... floating down the overflowing river in knights ferry, the first new cuddle, the first all nighter, the midnight murder picnic, and the noon picnic in the park on the hottest day of the year...
i took this cd with me everywhere. and now, im ready to take it out of my car, and place it in a box.
