having super short hair again has RUINED me.
ruined me, i say.
it takes 1 minute to wash, 7 minutes to dry, and 4 minutes to style.
thats 12 minutes hair time. then of course, there's make up and stuff which usually takes me hours,
but i've cut WAAAAAY back on the amount of mascara i wear, so make up time is like, 10 minutes or less now.
what takes the MOST time, is finding an outfit. i always think im gonna be cute, and then end up wearing my
favorite jeans, happy face t-shirt and flannel. so 2 minutes to get dressed.

lets add this up.

7 minute shower (unless i'm not in a hurry. then that number goes up to 45)
12 minute hair.
6 minute make up.
2 minute outfit.

that's 27 minutes TOTAL to get ready, as opposed to my former hour, hour 15.
tell me then, WHY am i still ambitious about when i will rise?
an HOUR ago i posted "WELL! i'm off to my show! bye!" aaaaaand im still in bed.
why? because it takes me half an hour to get ready.

i love how short hair and a TOTAL lack of care about how the world perceives me
has allowed me to catch up on my sleep time. and by sleep i mean tv time...

HERE'S TO SHORT HAIR ATTITUDE!!!!

so its no secret that i'm mildly obsessed with my hair.
its always changing, always trying to get it just right.
and totally gasp- i think ive done it.

until the last weekend of july, my hair looked like this:
Picture
seriously- NOT okay.
i couldn't WAIT to cut it all off and dye it blonde again.
so the DAY my show was over, i did. now it looks like this.
Picture
FAR more acceptable, i find. i feel better so i look better, and ultimately, that improves my ENTIRE attitude.
yeah. im one of those.

the bangs are SO long. almost down to my chin now. YEAY! GOODBYE BANGS FOREVER!
ok at least until i get bored. but i gotta tell you- i really like not having bangs anymore.
technically i still do, they're just not short on my forehead. i have a long swoop now.
and i think i'll keep it for awhile. i super dig it. the only thing is- i HATE hair in my eyes.
i have come to terms with it always flopping onto my face, and have even started to enjoy the feeling a bit.
but when it gets all mixed up with my eye lashes, look out. i rage.

so in my quest to tie them back but look normal, i tried the side braid for awhile, but its REALLY hard for me to do.
i tried the straight back bump, but that doesn't look as good on me anymore.
and finally, i found something i super like, and i think looks at least ok- on me.
it's what i call- the Renaissance Roll.

i call it that because im preeeeeeetty sure it's how we all wore our hair to the stinky renaissance faire in 11th grade.
ooof that was a horrible day... nothin' like old man beer burps, meat waft, b.o. and saggy old lady boobs to turn you off dungeons and dragons FOREVER. anyway, this hairstyle is SUPER easy to do, and looks great from different angles. trust me. i look at my hair from every angle before i leave the ROOM, let alone the house.
and then, inevitably, i end up shrugging and walking out the door looking like a mess ;)
i like to pretend i'm vain, but really- i couldn't care less. there are much more important things in life, than hair.

but it's SO hard to find the right hairstyle for yourself. some people wear their hair the same way their entire lives,
like my mom and dad. they found styles that worked for them at an early age, and have ridden the wave the last 60 years. thats amazing. unfortunately, im just NOT one of those people. i am a perpetual mess.
but i think i've found one that's gonna stick around...
at least for a little while ;)
