i have been training for 4 measley days.
and im so exalted and bruised and battered- today i literally fell asleep on my face,
whilst talking on the phone...
and i slept for 2 hours... on my phone... on my face...  sorry auntie :/

here's why...

then saturday is a free skate, and sunday i take off as well as wednesday. each work out clocks in around an hour 15-20.
it's tough. i feel exhausted and totally bodily broken... that "awesome" strong feeling hasn't kicked in yet ;)
but im sure it will! i have NEVER had a work out schedule. when i did SBP we had a regular class schedule so i guess that counted, but outside of class, i didn't work out at ALL. 4 dance classes a day and 4 hours of choreography at night was enough ;) this is going to take a LOT of getting used to. i only wish i wasn't leaving for 12 days now! because that's going to put such a damper on my training and my body will hate me EVEN MORE than it does right now when i get back!! oh well. worth it :)

what's your work out schedule?
<3

you guys love roller derby! and you love the idea of me doing it!
i have to admit- its pretty hysterical. i thought i would be too old,
but the more research i did on it, the more i found out that there are women who don't even START til they're 40,
and there are women who are 59 in leagues across america! that is SO inspiring to me...
i just sit here shaking my head thinking about how amazing those women must be.
i want to be one of them :)

so here's what inspires me to get up and get out.
Picture
1. "billie jean" - michael jackson

2. "that's not my name" - the ting tings

3. "try it again" - the hives

4. "everybody wants you" - billy squier

5. "are you gonna be my girl?" - jet

6. "goody two shoes" - adam ant

7. "filthy/gorgeous" - scissor sisters

8. "let's go crazy" - prince

9. "the scratch" - 7 year bitch

10. "pot kettle black" - tilly & the wall

i just got back from my very first roller derby training session.
i hurt. everywhere. thusly giving me a perfect opportunity to try out my new slogan:
this is not going to be easy.
this is going to be worth it.

when i made my bucket list back in march, skating in roller derby was oddly one of the first things on it.
as was sky diving. but i decided that sky diving was extremely counter-productive to have at the TOP of a bucket list.
i didn't want to die, and i didn't want to peak with #1.
so i put it at the very end. made more sense to go out with a bang... literally, if necessary ;)

without a doubt, thee most dangerous thing on my list is roller derby.
and i have some dangerous stuff on there...
in my mind- its more dangerous than cliff jumping, and its more dangerous than sky diving,
and its slightly more dangerous than what i have planned during my 3 day disappearance. (see Fall Check List)
because although i MIGHT die/get hurt sky diving- i WILL be greatly injured in roller derby.
that is a fact. it's like, gearing up to sit down and watch someone break your arm.

a lot of you know what ive been dealing with this summer, and its made it hard to work out.
well, my body actually felt strong enough to go skating for the first time today.
i'll delve into that tomorrow (im postponing my picture every hour- to tomorrow since im kind of weak right now.)

today i want to talk about, possibly, THEE most important part of this insane sport.

i am having THEE HARDEST TIME choosing a name.

then it just popped into my head: Bort Authority.
like Port Authority?!

i REALLY wanted my name to be a tribute to drew barrymore, since i've been obsessed with her since birth,
and she made the first roller derby movie...
so i was thinking something like Drew Bloodymore.
or Scary Barrymore.

i dont know :) what do you think? should it be MY name? Or a tribute to drew?
ideas?
