SECRET # 9 Something you do a lot? well, if we're sharing SECRETS, i'll share something that most people probably dont know i do a lot, which is dance with my dogs. i probably spend around 2 hours on and off every day, dancing around with my dogs. i saw a video last year about this man who tango'd or something with his dog, and ever since then, i've wondered if it's possible to get my dogs to do that. so i try. daily. to teach them little routines. it mostly consists of me jumping up and down in one location, encouraging them to jump with me... and then inevitably i roll my ankle and fall down. thusly ending the session. SECRET # 10 Regret much? yeah, honestly. i do regret quite a lot of things. ive never understood people who say "live with no regrets." i understand the whole standard overused answer of "my actions have shaped me", but isn't it normal to reflect and yes, even regret? i realize i wouldn't be the person i am today without my choices, but is the person i am today so great that i shouldn't regret anything bad i've done, or look back over the things that make me feel bad and figure out a way to change that behavior into something better and good for the future? yes. i regret. a lot. i do. and i think THAT is what makes me the person i am. recognizing that i have made mistakes and THOSE MISTAKES are why i am the person i am today. and the fact that i am unhappy with that, leads me to make different and ultimately better choices now. "harvest moon" neil young TWO things you want to do before you die: 1. go to venice 2. make some amazing memories in my boat ONE confession: 1. :) if there was only one beauty trend i wish i could pull off... it would be- above all others- red lips. i have found them infinitely sexy since i could walk, i think. i am drawn to red lips. i cant escape them. i think it stems back to loving drew barrymore at such a young age... and she has always worn the bold, bold, blood red lip. i love it. it turns my head. i gravitate toward it. im entranced by it. it takes a very bold and special lady (or man-lady) to wear blood red lips. they have to be done right. the wrong shade can make you look deathly ill... and unless your teeth are PERFECTLY shinning pearly white, it will look horrible... like your teeth have jaundice... of the soul... so without further ado, i present to you the red lip done right. and let me just say- i've stared at each and every one of these pictures for at least 30 (1 alligator, 2 alligator, 3 alligator) seconds each. thats a long time to just STARE ... like a creeper... at one image... without blinking.... whilst coveting... ooooo..... red lips <3 *click photos to enlarge and of course, the inspiration that started my obsession... but of course, when i wear red lipstick, i wind up looking like this... sorry girls... i had to warn them... :/  soooooooooooooo. just call me linda hamilton. cuz im about to go all terminator on your.... you know. today's picture story is about my arms. now, i never ever EVER wear sleeveless shirts or revealing clothes in public. at home im like a naked factory... but soon- all that is about to change, yo. i have been working out for 3 months straight as part of my intensive detox and mental therapy. (for those of you who don't know, i was diagnosed with... well, let's just call it 'something very very bad' several months ago, and rather than go the route everyone always goes where you lose 50 pounds, all your hair and your will to live, i decided to meet with herbalists and therapists and see if i could first detox it out of me. i was given a very low chance of survival, less than a year, but .... honestly... i feel great. mentally and physically exhausted, but better than i have in a long time. so... who knows. i dont talk about it much because i dont want it to define me and i dont want every conversation i have to be about it. so, i choose to let it spill in small doses. like, right now. plus, on the off chance i DO live, i dont want everyone being like "well, you SAID you were going to die so i was all nice to you.... great." ya know. and people would... everyone hates me. anyway, hush hush. its my thing, and i should be the only one talking about it. okay? thanks.) so every day i take this massive amount of pills that make me sick for awhile, and then i feel ok. when i start feeling ok, i work out. my favorite thing to do is walk on my tred mill (which i should do EVERY DAY but i dont. laziness dies hard...) and then WEIGHTS. i have 15 pound weights that i pump. EVERY DAY. NO MATTER WHAT. i feel like a rock star. and even tho i show them to no one (except bug last week was like "auntie- you're buff!" how she even KNOWS the word buff i dont know. how does she know the words "reiterate" and "dodecahedron" ??? how can she multiply compound fractions? shes five. and shes smarter than me...) i know they're there. so finally bug got a taste of my awesome muscles because i was throwing her around the pool every day for a week and a half. she was like "aren't you tired yet?" and i was like "no way man. let's go." cue 50 more throws across the pool to which she finally responded with "OKAY OKAY! i just can't take anymore"... she's so dramatic. and its the funniest thing ever. so... long story short (too late) i have muscles. and i like them. buy me chocolate and you might get to see them... the picture is of my right upper dorsamis muscle... its my favorite of all the dorsamisses... something i have always gotten a kick out of is some japanese teenagers' interpretation of american style... especially those in tokyo. i can't tell you how many times i have seen little japanese girls running around san francisco or l.a. decked all out in mini-skirts with my little pony's swinging around their necks, or their hair crimped out to mars with 15 pounds of eyeliner on - all atop a school girl uniform. i just think its HILARIOUS and absolutely adorable. such freedom and joy with fashion. in a world where everyone takes themselves SO seriously, its refreshing to see people who just want to have fun. not dismissing everything that is wrong with the world, but finding things to celebrate in SPITE of the state of the world. im not saying that if you are just cynical and pissed off all the time (like me) that there's something wrong with you, and im DEFINITELY not saying to find something good in EVERY situation (cuz i hate those people... sometimes you just want to be sad and stop having people tell you you're a bad person for not pulling yourself out of it...) but when you can take the time to pin 6 pound puppies into your hair as well as 15 pink hair extensions, fish net tights, a mini skirt and 3 bathing suits you have sewn together to make a shirt- there's just something special about you :) so today is a tribute to japanese girl street fashion! im not sure why teenagers who have never been to america think all americans dress like rainbow brite super heros... OR the olsen twins... but as someone who would choose to wear everything in her closet at once as WELL as every accessory known to man... all at the same time... i definitely appreciate it ;) JAPANESE GIRL FASHION!ok. i have always been a tad obsessed with seersucker. not bravely obsessed enough to try wearing it, but obsessed with how it looks. we have a LOT of seersucker S&BB stuff on its way out... at any rate, researching all my boat stuff recently (look on the right sidebar for the icon "I'M BUYING A BOAT!" to see the latest happs...) i have had my love of seersucker renewed. its just so bright and happy and summery. ive decided that seersucker is going to be the fabric of choice for my boat, and this led me to think of it in other categories.... like WEDDINGS. how rad would it be to have gorgeous seersucker for a wedding?! i just... i can't get over it. and low and behold, im not the only one with this idea. enjoy :) SEERSUCKER WEDDINGAND i just can't get over this paper crane hanging thingie... obviously, im making one tonight.
