i mean... a LOT. like, these are long standing habits i'm just taking note of now.
some of them are weird. most of them are weird.
and good friends can probably list even more... you guys are always like "did you know you..."
nope. i didn't. thanks. here's my list.
2. in the shower: i only let my big toes touch the tub floor for balance. like i'm afraid i'm going to get athlete's foot from myself or something. entirely possible. (????????)
3. in the shower: if the shower curtain touches me anywhere but the 2 fingers i use to open and close it with, i scrub that area with scalding hot water and half a bottle of shampoo for 5 minutes. and fyi- my shower curtain is spotless. just thinking about shower curtains make me shudder. if i had to choose between a pool of moldy shower curtains and a pool of sharks, i might... well lets be honest. a heart attack on the deck might be in order.
4. i bite the lower inside of my lip on the right side. ALL. THE. TIME.
5. whenever im offered a gig or job or asked to hang out, i dont think of it in terms of if i want to do it or not, i think of it exclusively in terms of "can i leave my dogs alone for that long?"
6. i stare blankly at women and girls. a LOT. i have started seeing the world in terms of S&BB products and photoshoots. i will look at a woman or cute teenager and in 15 seconds have an entire photoshoot, wardrobe and look planned for her... but im certain i look like a creeper. CERTAIN. once they catch me staring, i have to introduce myself. its cool. this is a habit that has afforded me a lot of great opportunities and new friends :)
7. i act like im air brushing my face. ive been blessed with clear skin this summer for the first time in my life (all the de-toxing i've been doing as treatment) and i haven't had to touch up a single photo of myself. so when i sit and work, i catch myself fanning my hand over my face and i think "what in the hell am i doing?" and then im like "oh. im air brushing my skin." (???????????) weirdo.
8. i type all the time. im certain its why i have carpel tunnel. i wake up in the night typing. i type when im relaxing. on my legs, on an armrest, on my purse, on my shopping cart, on my steering wheel, on someone else's arm... i type stuff ALL the time. and when i notice im doing it, i have to keep doing it to figure out what im typing, and i always have no clue why i'm typing said word or phrase. something i heard 10 minutes ago that my brain just latched on to.
9. i do a purse check before i leave the house, and won't go unless i have my camera and water bottle.
10. i drift off into daydreams very easily. when i catch myself, im usually thinking about new S&BB stuff, and opening my own store and how i'll design it.
11. i interview myself on david letterman in the mirror while im getting ready. this is seriously something ive done since high school. i dont even notice im doing it until im ready to leave and i realize i just shook david's hand and waved goodbye to the audience in my head. (??????????????)
12. body blocking myself from the dogs has become second nature. after i've been gone for awhile, i come through the garage door into the house, and i have my arms propped out ready to push juniper away, and my knee up ready to push foxy away. im like a football blocker, barreling my way through the house.
13. if im going to speed through a yellow light, i kiss my hand and hit the top of my car on my way through.
14. i don't carry my phone with me anymore. i leave it on my night stand.
15. since i started strength training about a month ago; with the goal of starting roller derby training at the beginning of september, ive started hopping by things- like i'm on skates. thats kind of how i view walking now, in terms of passing by or jumping over things on skates. everything feels a lot faster since i started strength training, and i've only been skating for a day :) this shows you how far i mentally plan for things in advance ;)
