between my never healing broken ankle,
and ingesting something in these pictures each week,
i should change my new years goal of losing as much weight as possible to GAINING as much weight as possible.
that seems a more likely goal for me to accomplish anyway ;) why break with tradition?!

hey hey :) guess what? i had cookies for breakfast yesterday. lots of them.
its been a really hard week. my dad is in the hospital, and its bad :(
so little tiny things here and there (like eating an assortment of cookies for breakfast) are needed for smiles sake.

for Christmas, i got this really great gift box of pretty, fancy cookies.
you know the box i'm talking about. the gold one with layers upon layers of the same delectable delights (you heard me)...
you know the cookie box that's happening over here.

i hadn't even opened it because the holidays have been so crazy.
so yesterday, in the interest of getting to the hospital in a hurry,
i decided to not take 30 mins to make myself waffles, but just grab some cookies and coffee (courtesy of my
new B-70 keurig! yeay!) and make a date with myself out of it.

it was the best 5 minutes i'd had all week, up to that point.
i highly recommend cookies for breakfast. <3

(and before you ask- NO. i didn't finish all of them. i ate about 4 and had to put the rest back. oof.)

Fancy Breakfast

i threw down some serious juice this morning. i have been saving for a few months to buy my dad an amazing 70th birthday present.
 i JUST purchased it.

mast brothers chocolate is a business i have been mildly obsessed with for over a year, if not 2... or 3..  i don't remember how or when i found out about them. possibly by just skimming vimeo one day, and their video was featured. in fact, i think that IS how i found out about them. nevertheless- i have watched the video below at least once a week since, usually around 3 - 5 times a week. i love it so so much. it just captures something really special for me. im not sure what it is... maybe just boys with beards :)

i think its their passion. the way they keep certain things alive, like SAILING their chocolate. what they wrap it in. how they display it. their shop philosophy. they're just really special guys. i wanted to visit their shop last time i was in new york, but i was suffering from serious agoraphobia (thank you internet predator), so next time.

i just purchased my dad's birthday present. 25 chocolate bars :) for a diabetic, that's a big deal. it'll take him the next year to get through them ;) but i wanted to give him something truly special, and a piece of history in some way. so i got him a special package from these amazing men.

hit full screen and watch the video. just trust me. <3

if you're anything like me, wonderfully delicious sweet coffee in the morning just DOES it for you.
lately, i have been doing this more and more again. i was on a coffee strike for awhile,
but there's only so long you can deny something that's so inherently part of you.
i.e. coffee.

i straight up stole this with absolutely no permission whatsoever (which should be bloggily illegal, im just saying)
from one of my favorite blog bakers- emma over at food coma.
i love her. i love her recipes. i love her amazingness. and i love this  coffee.
do please enjoy :)

"Hi everyone, I'm Emma of Food Coma. And Bethany was kind enough to allow me to share a little coffee drink with you all. Here's one of the ways that I like to enjoy iced coffee at home.

I cold brew coffee over night in my french press. I use more coarsely ground coffee than I normally would for hot coffee, as iced coffee will eventually be enjoyed with ice so it gets watered down anyway.

After 8-10 hours my cold brew coffee is ready and I like to serve it with a scant 1/4 cup half and half or whole milk, 1/2 teaspoon raspberry extract and frozen raspberries (and a few ice cubes). It's a homemade raspberry iced coffee-perfect for summer!

Thanks so much!
xo. Emma"

maybe in a few days i'll do a blog on my growing collection of mason jars and beautiful bottles.
i have this whole HUMUNGOID "flower" project ive been doing upstairs, and as part of it, i've started
little candy stands in every room. as part of THAT i have used a ton of mason jars and super fun bottles.
i love the jars so much, i've started gluing handles on them to make them mugs. my creativity is endless, i tell you.
endless, and almost unmanageable. no other way, yo.
